This book blends magic and political prose while asking some essential questions about the erasure of Indigenous cultures. Although the wordplay took some getting used to, this is storytelling at its most powerful. Though so much has been lost, Hulme reminds us that as long as we are willing to engage with and challenge accepted worldviews, redemption and healing are possible.
